Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was just so pretty. In Japan they sell fortunes at various temples and if they're bad you leave them behind. The fortunes were in the shape of hearts so I decided to pick one up. They were totally in Japanese but a sweet old man at the temple read it for me and gave me the thumbs up so I kept hold of it.

We stumbled upon Kuzuharaoka Shrine while walking the Daibutsu Hiking Course from Kita-Kamakura to Hase. The path leads directly through this shrine. It seemed really off the beaten path, and there were only a few other Japanese tourists there. There are some small shrine buildings, some tables for picnicking, and a small gift shop. You can purchase a small ceramic dish from the gift shop and there's a designated area where you can then smash it to fend off the bad influences in your life. A nice destination for a walk if headed from Hase/Kamakura, and a nice place to rest if you're on the Daibutsu Hiking Course.

You'll pass this little shrine if you're walking the Daibutsu Hiking Trail and it's well worth a stop. For a small fee you can throw a small plate towards a stone to get rid of your worries.

if you're walking on the trails around Kamakura this shrine is easily reachable from Genjiyama Park. It's a peaceful shirne, on the way to the Jochi-ji Temple (when walking on the trail). For an offer of 100 yen you can cast away your bad luck smashing a pottery plate against a rock.

You can reach this small shrine if you follow the trail to the park on top of the hill above Kamakura. It is quite interesting and if you want you can symbolically cast away your concerns by smashing a small pottery saucer.
