Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the places that became "Turning point" of Japan.
1860s, Yamaguchi Prefecture is one of the places that have been attacked by a foreign power.
Therefore, it was necessary to fix the "troops" as soon as possible.
And it was necessary to govern the civil war.
This temple is a place that became a garrison of "kihe-tai".
Army that tries to protect Japan beyond the status distinctions.
There is a statue of the commander "Takasugi Shinsaku".
Historically, it is a very famous place, but it is a beautiful temple full of nature even more.

It is one of the highlights of the sightseeing in Chofu. It is known as the place where Takasugi Shinsaku, an activist of anti Shogunate monument, took up arms.

An amazingly beautiful temple with a peaceful moss garden at the back. Full of historical significance, beautiful cherry blossom, cool tatami rooms and incense curling everywhere.

This temple is a national treasure, but it is more than that.
In the foreground of the temple, you will see Shinsaku Takasugi on the horseback who died when he was 29 years old! He became a kind of commander or representative of the Choshu side started to topple down the Samurai system. The first place of the movement or action started in Kozanji temple a few months later after the defeat by the fleet of the 4 countries - the British Empire, USA, France and the Netherlands-in 1864. Based on the experience of this defeat, the armies led by Shinsaku Takasugi beat the Samurais which were more than 10 times in size and scale. So, this place is said to be the substantial starting place to establish the Meiji Restoration in !868.

Located in Chofu castle town, a place with long Japan history. It is about 25-minute bus ride from the Shimonoseki train station. Impressive wooden gate and nice temple grounds.
