The museum itself is a wonderful place to remember some real Ashland history. Better than that, during Train Day, is the Red Caboose. Once belonging to the old C&O (precursor to the present CSX line), it still has the old desk, lanterns, benches and cabs,...More

This little museum has an lot to offer. The town has a rich history that is described in an interesting visual presentation that includes great photographs along with a detailed narrative. The docents on site can answer questions with clarity and humor.

Nice little museum that covers a lot about the history of this town close to Richmond. Quite an interesting place in the late 1800s with beautiful Victorian homes on nearby Center Street

Just two blocks south of the Ashland Visitors' center a red caboose helps one find the entrance to the Ashland Museum. From the outside the museum looks small, but enter and find several long rooms of local history, artifacts, and lore.
