Great place to visit. You see people who are in the Navy, the Army , the Marines, the Coast Guards. They are so friendly. This place is like a small town ... it includes a Post Office, a DMV, various restaurants , a florist , jewelry shop and clothing stores. Our service people work here so it is easy for... More

My twins are 11. They don't know much about 9/11. They enjoyed the memorial and had a lot of questions during and after our visit. It was a good way to open up some dialogue about the events of 9/11. Don't miss the Visitor's Welcome Sign (brown). It includes a phone number for a short (12 min) or long (20... More

A touching tribute to those killed in the 9-11 attacks. Very special area. Wish everyone would demonstrate proper respect.

We were on a tour of this area for a week but even so ....we are always rushing off to the next location and really wanting to spend more time here. Or tour guide explain the layout of this memorial to us and I understood it to the full extent ...reading other reviews here on TA people seem very confused... More

This was a must see for us while in DC for spring break. Fully accessible from the metro but a bit of a walk so prepare. Once there it's such a view and a sight to see. A must visit.

Words cannot explain the somber tone, while walking among the monuments. This is a location of reality and quickly reaffirms why are country is doing what it is doing against the war on terror. This location is recommended for all who have the ability to travel and visit. It personalized the event of 9/11 and is a beautiful memorial to... More

After riding my bike into the city from Virginia I decided this would be a great stop in the early evening. I would highly recommend stopping and taking in a little bit of recent US history. Notice how the benches facing towards the pentagon honor those who were on the plane and those facing away honor those who died in... More

Of all the buildings destroyed by the planes in 9-11, the pentagon is the one that remains; making it is inevitable to imagine where the plane came from, where it hit etc. The monument honors both, the people aboard the plane and those who died from inside the building, and each individual monument will show you which ones are which....
