The thought that went into this design is mind boggling. What you can tell from the benches is so much more than just a bench. The water features are nice. The span of years/ages is visible as is where they were when they died. Highly...More

I would definitely recommend coming to the memorial. They have a phone number on the sign as you enter that is for an audio tour. There is a short 12 minute version and a longer 25 minute version. It explains how the memorial was arranged...More

A heart-wrenching memorial! When taking the Metro, be prepared to walk (a mile to/from the memorial) for a complete view. The memorial is so thoughtful and well planned and the free auditory tour, that is offered by dialing a number on your phone, offers so...More

Breathtaking memorial to commemorate the loss of lives. Located just outside the pentagon. Very well in reach from Washington DC.

We went to see the Pentagon Memorial after visiting the Air Force Memorial. Fortunately, we picked up a brochure, and then spoke with some people who explained in more detail the design of the memorial. I highly recommend reading up on the design before going,...More

A very well done memorial to those that died on 911 both aboard the airplane and in "the building" itself. The names remind all that they were real people of many nationalities and or a wide range of ages. It took me back as I...More

They set up the memorial plaques with opposing directions showing where the person was when the plane hit the building.

Yes, but it's not well-marked. There is a sidewalk from behind the Cemetery's service complex (southeast corner of the Cemetery) that goes along Columbia Pike and then under Washington Blvd into the entrance area for the... More

It is open when the lights are on. It might even be open 24 hours. There is a Metro stop nearby but there is also public parking.

If you go after 6:00, you can probably park in the lot at the tunnel entrance.
