This new memorial is a fitting one for the USAF. The soaring towers, representing jets, are best seen from afar, but there are two very good memorial walls and nice places to sit and reflect on the sacrifices our airmen and women have made. The views over Washington are amazing.

Panoramic view of Washington DC, and the soaring sculpture really does give a feeling of jets rising. Probably a tad boring for smaller children but an informative and reflective spot with a view of the cemetery. Great spot for tourists to review their visit and what they've already seen, and the meaning of many of our memorials.

Breath taking views of D.C. Great venue for free concerts & plenty of space for picnics on the 4th of July. One of my favorite memorials!

This place has great view of Washington DC. Additionally the walls and plaques of the memorial are filled with great information. Even for someone like me who is not enthralled by history.

The actual memorial structure can be mostly viewed for several miles around the area. And it is worth a visit when you also visit the Pentagon Memorial - they are a short walk from each other.

Nice simple memorial with a nice view of the Washington, DC skyline. It's right next to Arlington National cemetery and near the Pentagon so you can combine it with a trip to those sites. We came during a weekday afternoon in February so it was not crowded and very quiet.

I'm not sure why this didn't move me. Maybe it's too new. Or just too modern. I'm ex-Air Force and it should have.

The artist who won this design competition must have gulped when he thought about how he would sculpt flight. But the AF Memorial captures flight - specifically the "missing man" formation in a breathtaking manner. The closer you get to the Memorial, the more beautiful it is. Built with private funds (including a few foreign governments), the small park and... More

Big enough to be seen from miles around, but also with human-scaled sculptural elements and inscriptions dedicated to USAF heroes.
