We are a small Virginia Farm Winery located in Abingdon on the far southwest side of Virginia near the Tri-Cities of Bristol, Johnson City and Kingsport, TN. We acquired 53 acres of land in this beautiful area and thought we would do something to keep us healthy, active and creating something. We began planning our 10 acre vineyard in 1997; planted our first 500 plants in 1998 and completed our 6000 plants by 2001. Our main grape varieties are: Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Chardonel, Traminette, Pinot Noir, Norton, Chambourcin, Viognier. Our first fermentation began with our year 2000 harvest. We have a pleasant, rustic atmosphere. We opened our tasting room June 1, 2001, and are now open from March 15 to December 15, Tues-Sat,10am-6pm AND Sundays 12-6pm. We are closed every Monday and Thanksgiving during that time span. Come try our wines and enjoy the quiet serenity of the area and friendly, comfortable hospitality.

This place is off off off the beaten track. But worth the drive if for nothing else than to take in the scenery. Nestled at the junction of two streams, there is outdoor seating for sipping your wine and enjoying the view. The tasting room is modern and attractive. A free tasting included 6 wines of your choice off their... More

Visited for my 3rd time. This is such as relaxing spot to enjoy wine. We picked up a sandwich (veggie wrap) from Happy Trails Cafe which is about 1/2 mile away at the Old Alvarado Station and enjoyed it on the winery patio with a bottle of Traminette. Very relaxing time with friends. They make a good Riesling & their... More

If you're travelling in the area and are interested in trying some of our local wines, look no further. This quaint little winery located off Route 58 (headed towards Damascus) is tucked away from society well enough to provide a gorgeous presentation of the property. Once inside, this winery offers plenty of wines made from local and imported grapes as... More

We drove more than an hour out of way to visit. We arrived an hour before closing, kinda felt rushed.. Asked about the Gewurztraminer Lot 10 that came highly recommended. Was told "our customers like more of a California Wine" Location is beautiful. Fall decor is pretty. Great picnic place.

We like to try wines in different areas of the country and this one has some excellent choices. They have something for everyone, sweet or dry, red or white. Beautiful small patio to enjoy some wine outside. Picnic area available also. We especially like the Norton. They have won several wine competitions, so the integrity of the wine is more... More

A lovely spot in the woods to enjoy a wide variety of wines they produce here. I'm not too much on sweet wines they lean toward, but several of their dry and semi-dry were very drinkable. They have very economical products and their tastings are generous.

I have been visiting the Abingdon Vineyard for years. The owners have made constant improvements and their wines are delicious. At a recent tasting ($5 for five tastes), I was impressed with the breadth of flavors--from very sweet dessert wines to full-bodied dry reds. My favorite is Chardonnel, but it has already sold out for this year. Come bring a... More

Why doesn't this site have an editing option? My husband and I visited Abingdon Vineyard and Winery yesterday as our concluding stop in Abingdon, Virginia. I learned so much about how wines are made. Our host was both congenial and extremely well-versed in the many intricacies involved in creating a superlative wine. I learned the difference between oak barrel aging... More
