Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We saved this space for last at the end of our Austin trip. It is tucked away in the hills, and when you get there you’ll immediately appreciate it. It was beautiful and quiet. We took time to soak in the temple, as well as get some meditation time in. There are statues of Buddha from around the world. Incredible display. Make time for this space.

A great place to escape the city, if not only for a few moments. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting even though I am not Buddhist. It is nice to sit outside on the benches and listen to the breeze ring the bells on the main spire of the temple.

Be aware that there are rules of etiquette that you should follow while visiting. They are posted on the building behind the temple as well as on their website.

Plan to spend less than an hour there, unless of course you are doing some meditation.

This is a very serene and peaceful house of worship located on the western outskirts of Austin. The area around the worship hall is quite beautiful. The golden Pagoda structure is quite beautiful and was regally lit up when we visited after sunset. The architecture is unique. Inside the worship hall, there were multiple magnificently adorned representations of Lord Buddha. The overall atmosphere is very relaxing and soothing.

Beautiful, peaceful, and serene. What a great experience. We weren't there for long but I would love to go back and visit - maybe stay for a retreat. There is just such a great vibe. Kind of a trek to get there, but worth it.

The place has a beautiful pagoda in Burmese style along with a meditation center and courtyard. There are also a bunch of other cottages including a library , rooms where the monks are housed(I guess) and a cafeteria.
I couldn't find any one when we went there. There were couple of monks meditating in the meditation hall and some one who painting the fences. Every other building other than the Pagoda and the meditation center were locked. To be fair we went at a really odd time (2:30 - 3:00 PM) and may be they were closed at that time. Their website contains timings for the daily schedule and it would make sense to go during those times to see their activities or to meet some people.

Nice things:
1. The pagoda was really beautiful and exotic. I have never seen any architecture from that part of the world and it was truly exciting to see something new.
2. The place is really peaceful and a prime location to spend some quiet time or to meditate (If you are into those things)

Not so nice things: Noone to talk to / lack of activities. This is my personal experience and this could be solely because i chose to go at a time when they were closed(apparently). You might find something interesting if you go at a time when they have scheduled some activities (Check their website)

All in all its worth a visit if you are interested in seeing something new and like to spend some quiet time. You might want to check the etiquette and the newbies section of their website before paying them a visit.

All in all i really liked the place and would recommend it to anyone who has the same bent of mind as mine. Have fun :)

Relax. Walk to grounds. Take a few minutes to read the etiquette rules posted in many locations if you are not familiar.

The serene and calmness are what everyone needs and desires.

Take 10 minutes....... or 4 hours. Worth your time I assure you.

We visited this temple on the rainy day. No one was there when we stepped inside the temple. We looked around and we can say that the temple is awesome. We could not stay outside because of the rain. We'll be back some day.

It was a pleasant trip to the Burmese Buddhist temple. A friend had invited me over to come along and celebrate the Burmese New Year which coincides with some other Indian New Year as well. Lot of spicy food. Temple visit was great; a very different experience. Art work was meticulous.
