We made a quick trip here while we were in Austin. We really enjoyed the place especially the Japanese garden.

This is a warning that the paths and stone steps in the Japanese garden are dangerous. The garden is shabby, and an insult to lovers of Japanese gardens, poorly graded and planted. Trucks are roaring past on a highway only a few yards away, spewing...More

This place restored my soul in under an hour. Found this the perfect place to decompress after an intense week of work while in Austin on business. The Japanese garden has a story beautifully told in a few well-placed plaques. Whether you know the background...More

We really enjoyed our time at the gardens, even this early in the growing season. The meanderings paths were fun to explore, the dinosaur area was cool and the Japanese garden was a real bonus. Lots of great history and a very nice gift shop....More

It’s beautiful in Spring and Summer, very pretty and serene. It’s actually much larger than I first thought. I love how they’ve divided in the garden into different areas.

Just enjoyable. Lots of paths wander up and down the gentle slope. Climb down over an arch on curvy stone steps that wind back around under the arch and then stepping stones to a fun bridge to walk over. Spent an enjoyable afternoon

Even in early Feb when many foliage is not in bloom, it was lovely. The Japanese Gardens were very well done. Nice spot to relax.

As far as botanical gardens go - it is nice.. not overwhelming and not the plant lovers dream.. but a nice low key activity.. solid 3/5 starts....go if u have a day or better yet - free admission ? :)

Gosh what a disappointment........ Not worth the $3 entry fee....... These gardens are sad and neglected. I realise that we were visiting in winter so didn’t expect a huge amount of flowering plants but wow the place looks so tragic. Weeds everywhere and the “cactus...More

While there are no picnic tables, I doubt that anyone on staff will tell you to get out if they see you eating. Definitely no fires.
