Really enjoyed visiting the campus again as my son and daughter are both UT graduates. The Tower is iconic with the university. My granddaughter really enjoyed sitting by the fountain and reading her book! Nice and relaxing

I agree with the review "fine diversion but don't go out of your way." I have learned more about the Tower from reading these Trip Advisor reviews. What a pity less than 1/4 of these details were relayed on my tour, yet the tour - As explained in other reviews - is impossible to depart before the 50 minutes is... More

The University of Texas Tower is a well known site on the UT campus both as a landmark and because of the history associated with it. Worth the visit if you are on campus.

In 1966, a deranged young man went to the top of the University of Texas clock tower and killed 14 people. The tower is now open to the public for two tours per evening. Unfortunately, over the past 50 years, the University of Texas has really not wanted to talk about this tragic event and the guides that accompany you... More

We booked the Tower Tour for 8:00pm to see the sunset over Austin. There was a light rain at first, but it cleared leaving dramatic clouds in the sky (perfect for a colorful sunset). Our tour guides, students at UT Austin, were knowledgeable and friendly pointing out landmarks to our son who will be a freshman. It was a great... More

I see the UT Tower often and think it is beautiful. The administration building had attractive woodwork throughout and the flooring has extraordinary polished stones. The whole plaza around the UT Tower is expansive and nice to stroll through. This is a well known site that well represents The University of Texas.

Great views of the city. No bags allowed (and everyone goes through a metal detector), but lockers are available for $1. Tours available Th, Fr, Sat at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm. Best tour is at 8pm for the sunset view! Tours last 50 min (you cannot leave in the middle). Tickets available for purchase at the Union. They hand out... More

Interested in some of the more morbid facets of our history? This is one of the places to visit if you have an interest in mass murders or the evolution of violence in our country. Its proximity to other attractions on the UTexas campus makes the tower an important place to stop while touring the campus. I am not sure... More
