Nice mix of shopping and eateries. A variety of non-chain stores, which is what we were looking for. Full spectrum of pricey to affordable.

Nice place the shows how “weird” Austin is - in a good way. A must visit to see and enjoy the food and shopping. Enjoy the sights and smells and people!

Walk this street and anytime of the day for a fun look into Austin Culture. From Guerro's to Allen's boots to Home Slice pizza, you can find just about anything. Day or night, a fun strolling place!

Fun area for food, shopping and some live music. Close to downtown. Check out Allens Boot, Joe's coffee and the "I love you so much" sign, Continental for live music and casual cafes.

South Congress is first stop for cool funky shops in Austin. The avenue totally exemplifies the spirit of Austin. Although it's beginning to become more mainstream, South Congress is still a great place to go to really experience Austin.

Shops, restaurants, food trucks, and people watching! On a sunny Sunday afternoon the place was jammed with couples, families and some tourists. Loved every minute of checking things out.

This area is very much what makes Austin...Austin. Oddities and good eats all around, coupled with great people watching, outdoor boutiques, and Hey Cupcake! Sorry, but if you don't get a cupcake or pizza from Homeslice while in the neighborhood, you're doing yourself a major...More

I had a stroll through the street, I was not aware of this hidden gem. I wish I had more time to explore this neighbourhood, next time I will stay here in stead of down town!

Took a long walk from downtown Austin and found these great little shops on So. Congress Ave. Several interesting places to eat along the way too.

There are restaurants, shops, bars and the bat bridge all within walking distance in this area. Where good walking shoes and plan to stay awhile.

Uber is no longer active in Austin..cabs are easy to get. Another option is bicycle which are available near hotels. Get a 24 hrs pass.
