This was something we really wanted to do around sunset in hopes of getting some good photos, but the day we went happened to be cold and foggy. Still, I'm not sure this would have been as good as I expected because there are limited...More

When you get to the top of Mount Bonnell the views of the Colorado River and the downtown Austin skyline are AMAZING!! The only downside is that there is not much else to do besides take some photos. I wish there were more hiking trails...More

Great park that overlooks Austin. The stairs up to the top were great for exercise, worth it for the views.

It takes a few minutes to drive there from downtown. We usually spend about 45 min to an hour hiking up about 100 steps, checking the many views (mostly of homes, the water, pennybacker bridge), and going down the trail. It’s rough terrain in some...More

Went there on a drizzly day and still had nice views. Couldn’t walk the trails because they were very muddy. The real reason I’m writing this review is to encourage those that are concerned about the steps to go. At first I was very intimidated...More

Great views of Austin and the Colorado River. There are about 90 steps to get to the top, a small area for parking. There is a very short trail to the end offering views of the nice houses below. Don't expect a real hiking experience,...More

Mount Bonnell, lots of steep steps to reach the top, once their views of the Colorado River. Turn left and you can see distant Austin City views on a good day, zoom lens required. Turn right see nice houses and River views.

I believe so. Leash is recommended. I don’t think there are any restrictions for dogs.

It is not long at all, the hard part is the stairs but u can avoid that by going through the farther entrance . If u decide to take the stairs it might be like 5 to 8 min up.
