We stopped in while walking by to go to the Visitor Center. It is open limited hours so we were lucky. It is FREE. Let the docent tell you a short story (no pun intended) about the author's life. There are only 4 rooms but...More

This place is pretty sweet. It doesn't take long to visit. O.Henry was a writer of some note. We read him in seventh grade I think. The place is famous for the yearly pun off which I have missed the past three or four years....More

This is one of several homes O. Henry lived in. It is small,(30 minutes is sufficient) and the guide was knowledgeable. If you have read any of his works it is fun to connect the author to his life and maybe some of the things...More

Spend 30 minutes visiting this house/museum and learn about O. Henry. And it's free. It's a bit off the beaten path, but well worth walking a few extra blocks.

Went to this place and found it very interesting about the writer and poet. Nice little house and informative items about his stay in Austin. It is smack dab downtown, so you have to park at a meter or garage, but that's ok.

The O Henry museum was a welcome respite from the humidity on our walk. I was pleasantly surprised at how interesting the William Sydney Porter's life really was. The home was 1 of several the author had lived in in Austin, and provides a glimpse...More

A nice little house but the real treat is the extremely knowledgable docent who will answer any and all questions. Bonus is that there is a second house with another equally capable docent. Two for the price of one - and the price, zippo. No...More
