Lovely building, nice view of the lake on 6th floor
I came from Houston to check out their story time with my 1 and 4 year old. The woman leading it was very engaging. It is a very nice building, lovely architecture. Worth a walk-thru if you happen to be in the area, hardly any parking though, so I wouldn't recommend driving here specifically out of your way just to visit.

    Love this Library
This is the best library ever - the view is gorgeous from the top balcony, and there are so many places to sit, relax, read, or even work! If you're looking to get some exercise in, there are plenty of stairs to climb! be sure to visit the petting zoo as well!

    Incredible library!
What an incredible public library! Our family from Atlanta was visiting Austin during the solar eclipse and they were giving out free solar glasses so we came here. But we also ended up visiting every floor of the library and awestruck with all the things in the library. Only negative thing is the underground parking is quite cramped and limited.

We walked through the library with some locals and were really impressed. The interior has unique architecture, the outside areas offer very nice views of the downtown area and even the inside areas offer nice views as well. We’d suggest walking all of the way up and down and outside to explore all floors. It’s a very inviting space that would be hard to leave with a good book or if we were staying to study. The meeting rooms are a nice bonus and the technology petting zoo is interesting for all visitors. There seem to be quite a few events going on. Kudos to the person who thought to advertise a CD from a local group and also point out where they can be seen/heard live in town.

This library is worth a visit. It's very new and so thoughtfully designed, you will never want to leave. Check out the art gallery, the several pieces of public art, the "Harry Potter" intersecting staircases, the teens-only reading room, the technology petting zoo, the coffee bar, the library shop, the rooftop reading lounge... It just goes on and on. You will not regret the time spent there.

It seems odd that a tourist would recommend going to see the 125 million downtown Austin library but it really is a must see. The library is 6 floors and besides having more books than you can imagine you can also, shop, eat and drink there. The garden on top is beautiful. They have a teen room that makes me wish I was a teenager again. The pricetag was hefty but this library is beyond extraordinary.

The Austin Library was recommended to us on our city tour and it did not disappoint. The library is beautiful with an interesting staircase inside. The rooftop garden looks like it would be a great place to hang out if it was warmer. The library even as a coffee shop/bar and a gift shop. Yes, I bought a T-shirt. :)

Our walking tour guide recommended a visit, and I'm so glad we did. There is a wonderful roof top garden, with seating and a fabulous view of the Lake. Very restful and beautiful. We also grabbed a couple of magazines and spent a zen hour in the very quiet reading room, seated in very comfy armchairs, and a view that also partially overlooked the Lake. Loved it.

A well designed modern architecture signature structure for the City of Austin. Well executed sections dedicated to children & young families. The incorporation of outdoor elements that remind you of your proximity to the city center is pretty impressive. Parking garage is on-site below the six story structure. A gift shoppe and cafe are also on-site.

I guess I should review after I've actually been inside but I've tried to go several times and have not been able to find a parking spot. I'm a book lover and I love libraries. I'm sure it's a nice library when you're able to make it insite. :(

The building is spectacular with abundant light and color. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Great selection of books although navigating the various sections can be a bit tricky initially. Self check out and outside returns add to this great Austin facility.
