I always hear people mention how great Barton Springs pool is... well I’m telling you it’s nasty! Growing up here in Austin i loved going there as a teen. The pool was freezing cold but was clean and clear. Now the city doesn’t allowed the...More

Although we didn't swim, it's was very cool. It is like a giant swimming pool, minus the chlorine. There were large areas of grass for picnics and fun stuff. This is a good place for families.

This is a gem in the city of Austin. The natural spring pool is beautiful. And its literally freezing-so be prepared if you're going for a dip. Although you do acclimate to the temp pretty quickly. The park around it is beautiful. If you're a...More

It was 95 degrees when we visited Austin and this was the perfect retreat. The spring fed water was crisp and the swim from one end to the other is over 1/8 mile.

finding Parking was ridiculous (thought it should be expected for any place in Austin) with a $5 dollar parking fee once a space was cleared up. the pool itself was actually pretty nice with cold waters for a hot day. depth of the pool varies...More

Nice day trip in the sweltering heat of atx. Constant 70 degrees is quite refreshing. Enjoyable to just sit on the lawn, drink, eat, and float in the pool. They also have lifeguards there as need be. Not expensive day trip.

In theory, a really cool place. Parking is tough on weekends and the spring was closed on the day we went...so call ahead. There are still spots where you can hang out in the water, but it is very rocky/hard to swim. More or less...More

Don’t worry about the constant 68F water temp, jump in! It feels great, even if you bounce out like a cat. No visitor to Austin should miss this true gem. Bonus: if you have water shoes, try playing in the spillway below the pool. It’s...More

There is a great open area to the left of the official pool - great for swimming, picnicking, etc. The only disadvantage is not having a bathroom handy, but since we were there for a short time, it was no problem for us! I... More
