Not that we need more people coming to Barton Springs, but you are really missing out if you haven't been at least once during your visit to Austin. It's unique and iconic. Great people watching and so refreshing on a 100+ degree day in the...More

Public pool formed from Barton Creek, it's always cool and wasn't too busy at 11am on a Saturday. By 1pm, though, the line was long to get in. You can buy a ticket at the electronic booth outside the entrance, or pay at the window....More

2.5 miles from Downtown Austin you can enjoy Mother Nature in this fantastic natural swimming pool. Unbelievably peaceful and natural.

Beautiful setting and worth going on a hot Texas day. The water stays in the 60s year round. Avoid weekends-- lots of people and finding parking is a nightmare. If you have littles, remember it is clothing optional.

Show up early with your towel in your hand and ready for a good swim. The water is cold so it's best just to jump right in. No alcohol is allowed or music so don't bring any. Smiles and laughter and good times or are...More

The appeal of this place is that it's pretty cheap to get in and it's huge, so there's plenty of room. The water is freezing though, and it's hard to find parking if you go on a weekend.

This place is so awesome. I went on a cold/overcast day so it wasn't as fabulous as it could've been, but that was just bad weather and limited time in Austin. However, we lounged in the grass with a book and swam a little. They...More

Very great location to chill and swim after a long day. The pool is big enough for the whole family to relax and have fun. Did not get to see much of the location but from what I saw, everything was amazing.

In the pool area of the Springd most people bring blankets and sit on the grass...I think there were a few picnic tables on up the hill. Lots of hiking available within the park area. This is in the Zilker Park area. Nice... More

Yes. But the shower facility is not modern - like the rest of Barton Springs - vintage.

Usually you only see people in swimsuits or wetsuits (the water is cold.)
