I took my two teenage daughters here for an evening hike and picnic. They had fun exploring trails. They wore hiking sandals that could get wet and waded in and out of water along the way which was a great idea. The falls were pretty...More

The park is beatiful with nice trails. Lots of places to fish, picnic, and swim with family. There is a lot of rock surfaces and the falls were small due to hot weather. No fishing license needed. Bring bug spray, sun block and sandals for...More

McKinney Falls is a very nice place to take a dip, and so close to Austin that it takes very little time to visit. We both camped and hiked: * The campgrounds are clean and well-maintained. Bathrooms are great -- though if there were showers,...More

The park was beautiful, the water was warm, the ride from and to Austin was short, and we had a very nice day there. However, our daughters touched poison ivy there (we only discovered this days later), and all of us had to deal with...More

Park was very nice we had a great time. The only issue we had was not being able to take our picnic down by the river and had to walk back up to the picnic area. Other than that we enjoyed our day by the...More

Come to swim, come to float, come to slide down the waterfalls, just come! It's just off Slaughter with good nearby parking. A beautiful spot to catch some rays on a hot day and then jump in the cold spring fed waters!!!

If you want to swim check the water levels first. We went in the middle of the week and had a lovely time. It wasn’t that crowded, got the cool down a bit. It’s a nice place for a hike as well.

My only problem with this park is that it is too popular! It is close to Austin, so close that the residents of Austin treat it like a city park. The campsite was roomy and shady. Bluebonnets were blooming everywhere! Totally loved it!

We come here because I live about 9 minutes away. I always have a great time. There are lower falls and upper falls, hiking, and camping. Camping sites book quick so make reservations early. The falls are so fun, there is even a cave in...More

The wildflowers are striking and the location is close to Austin. The walking paths are an easy stroll and the geological features are interesting. It was a major disappointment though to see litter everywhere!
