My kids had an Leadership opportunity to meet with their representatives and discuss issues while also still being able to be a kid and take some great photos. They loved talking with staff and having the behind the scenes tour. This was setup through our...More

I’ve been to many but don’t wast your time with a guided tour, do it self or by phone which has great factoids! The Capitol itself nothing special, just large. One fact was worth the visit in my view, eg., the state couldn’t afford to...More

Entry into the capital building is free. You must go through security which is similar to an airport. The staff was very friendly. You can take a guided tour but my husband and I opted for a self guided tour. Very clean and well maintained...More

It was extremely difficult to find parking around the Capital. Once we did, we walked in and it was extremely busy and hectic. We couldn't walk around and enjoy ourselves or the environment. It was about 11:30am on a Wednesday.

Beautiful, well kept capitol grounds. The day we visited, the grounds were hosting a peaceful protest which was an amazing sight to see. A highly recommended landmark to see when visiting Austin!

A building you must visit in your Austin trip. This is a historic and powerful structure that you can walk around and explore. Definitely a great quiet spot outside the 6th street mayhem.

An impressive building, appropriate for its purpose. The guide was knowledgeable and interacted with the group of children in an age-appropriate manner. The pictures of past governors was educational and I came away with a better understanding of Texas history.
