Go to the Bullock Museum first to learn a little bit of Texas history, then take the free tour of hte capitol building. Really interesting.
Thoroughly enjoyed our tour through the capital. Christmas decorations wee up and beautiful! The dome was a site to see and the incredible art work was amazing. Don't miss touring this beautiful building

Friendly place visit. Some capital staff wouldn’t take my photos because they to busy. I did get one staff members that went above beyond she got on the floor and took my photos so you could see the Capitol Texas Star on the ceiling roof.
The building is beautiful. We took what was labeled the "holiday" tour, but that just meant we got to see the Christmas trees in the House and the Senate chambers.

We seem to visit the Capitol every time we have friends and family visiting from out of town. In addition to the typical chambers that you would expect, there are excellent paintings and sculptures which display Texas history. Parking is free across the street.
