Lots of room to bike, hike, play and relax. Beautiful all year round. Nice plays ape for young kids. Big open fields for kite flying, soccer fields, hiking trails , beautiful COLD spring fed pool for swimming. Nice outdoor amphitheater with plays in spring and summer. One of Austin's prime outdoor jewels. Lots of concerts throughout the year. Pet, child,... More

Zilker is one of the biggest parks in the city. It is relatively close to downtown and a very nice place where the main outdoors events in Austin take place, such as, many different concerts in music festivals ( ACL, SXSW…) and also the kite festivals the first weekend in March.

Zilker Metropolitan Park is an excellent location to see the cityscape, water, and go for a stroll! It is perfect that dogs are allowed "off leash". I noticed they implemented a pay to park now; understandable as upkeep must be $$$; but it was still nice to be able to go and not pay a fee before ...

An Austin icon complete with soccer fields, a spring-fed pool and acres to explore.Nearby entry to the lake for the kayakers, plenty of room for your dogs to run off-leash. Lots of festivals are held here year-round; great music, food and activities such as the annual Kite Festival.

What's not to like especially on a nice summer day. Lots of interesting locations and decent spots to eat around the park.

Perfect city park with walking trails on both sides of the river. Never needed to use a car in 4 days for a conference. The park was core to that. City has done a great job here.

Zilker Park has volleyball courts, open fields, large rock outcropping and more. Enjoy the hike and bike trail, go to the Austin Nature Center and people watch people.

The park is very big, so there's probably lots to do here that I never got to. I only was here for ACL, and thought it was such a beautiful space. If you don't have time to actually sit and enjoy it, I still recommend seeing it.

I'm surprised that this park got such a high ranking on Trip Advisor. This is not a must-do if you have limited time. Sure it's a nice park for locals, but if you're a tourist and want to prioritize your visits to attractions- it's not like San Francisco's Golden Gate Park or NY's Central Park.

Went on a Friday midday in February and had beautiful weather. Lots of runners, walkers, bikers and dogs on the path by Lady Bird Lake. Kiddie train was running, too. Saw turtles, ducks and geese in the Barton springs creek area. Sand volleyball nets were up and in use. This place must be really different when ACL is in town.
