Zilker Park and trails were most impressive, we had a great time doing early morning walks along the Colorado River on very well manicured wide paths that were always filled with lots of people doing the same

I enjoyed both Canoeing and Paddle Boarding in the calm creek. There I had a fantastic view over parts of Austin.

During a short visit we walked the trail along side Barton springs. A lot of people were renting Kayaks and Paddle boards to get down to the main river from the flowing spring. We did not pay to going into the spring area swimming area...More

If you want to relax in the park, this could be the place. But you may not be able to find a parking place. Public transport would be helpful. Park is very large and open, Friendly soccer games, Quiddich, volleyball, etc happening within the park.

I guess I had a picture in my mind of more of a forested type park, but Zilker is simply a wide open grass field with a crowded trail around it on a Sunday afternoon. We did enjoy biking the trail along the river back...More

Nice place, trails are rocks, and busy but need to visit. Great views. Great for Dog walks, can spend over an hour there.

The waters of Barton Springs are a cool complement to the city skyline. Lots of water activities available, from stand surfing to kayaking (rental fees) to a cute little train.

We rented a tandem kayak, and my husband did not have much experience. Regardless, we were on the lake for and hour and a half and it seemed like half the time. We saw tons of turtles basking in the late evening sun with the...More

Somewhat shabby. They were late planting some of the spring flower beds. Pathways uneven and not suitable for folks with walking issues. Not what I had hoped for.

I have been in Zilker Park a number of times after dark and have seen no reason to be concerned, however its a very large park near a big city, consequently I would advise all due caution
