While doing up Austin and you need a break from all the great food and music, head to Zilker Metropolitan Park. It is easy to find and you can unwind here or get active with outdoor activities.

This was surprising to find this nice park amid of city.Its based on the both side of the lake, which is excellent.Offers great views, great walk and specially offers great boating experience.Must visit.

In winter the park is converted in winter wonderland. The lights are beautiful. Plenty of food trucks, hot cocoa, and adult beverage. There is photo with Santa. Plenty of porta potties. Be ready for a lot of traffic and a long wait to get out....More

This is a great park in Central Austin with beautiful scenery, excellent walking trails, and a plethora of activities! Make sure you take in the breathtaking views by the river.

Austin takes park management seriously. This is another gem of a city park with well maintained trials and Barton Springs. Must do when visiting Austin, rivals any city park I have been to. Easy to use biking/walking trails.

I have been in Zilker Park a number of times after dark and have seen no reason to be concerned, however its a very large park near a big city, consequently I would advise all due caution

YEs it is a beautiful place for children. Not just the train, there are playgrounds, swings, and also lots of nature to enjoy. This park is awesome for everyone !
