It's a nice place to visit for a few hours. It's not your typical zoo. Alot of shade and benches I will go back

Ideal for a few hours of wandering through the animals with younger children as the actual size and layout of the property is not huge. There are many spots to let the little ones munch on a smack as they wander from animal to animal. Even in the intense summer sun there are some shade spots that offer shelter. Pack... More

Cute place. Alot of animals and they were all out. I liked reading the stories of all the animals. Clean and well kept paths, shaded so it was not to hot. I would defiantly go back with my kids!

I finally made it out to the Austin Zoo on a Friday afternoon after living here over a year now. I knew very little about this zoo besides that it was smaller, I could buy discount tickets via Groupon and it was an animal sancutary. It was easy to find off the main road leading back to rawhide trail. Once... More

It was a hot afternoon so some of the bigger animals were staying cool and napping. With that being said it was still a nice place to go and visit. This non profit rehabilitation zoo appears to take good care of their animals. I would go back.

The Austin Zoo was really cute and fun. adult $11 children $8. They also have a great gift shop. They have a great pavilion and a snack truck. They sale corn dogs, sausage wrap, shave cones and sodas etc. strollers are welcome. Parking does get tight.

This is the third time we have been here; loved it everytime. Wonderful rescued animals in natural environments and great staff. Go during the middle of the week while the kids are in school if you can to avoid crowds.

First of all, I am anti-zoo in so many ways. I hate seeing animals caged up, and kept just for our viewing pleasure. HOWEVER, the Austin zoo takes in rescue animals only! They don't go out and remove a baby from it's momma just so you can look at it. They truly care for animals, and either rehabilitate and release,... More

The place was busy. Staff was courteous and efficient. They had some impressive animals. A lot of the animals were not available to see. Still a fun day.

It's hard to keep this zoo in context and not compare it to other, more commercial zoos. This is closer to being a very nice petting zoo, and for what it is, it's too expensive. I understand that the money helps save animals, so I tried not to be upset about it, but it cost us $52 for five of... More
