The museum has free parking as does the American Quarter Horse Association in the building next door (the street is one way, so you will see it first). The association is an office facility and not a tourist attraction. Back to the museum, the staff...More

Great place for those that love horses and want to get out of the heat. Mechanical horse to ride and a 10 minute movie to watch. We learned a lot.

We were only in the area for a couple days and unfortunately numerous things we had hoped to visit were closed on Sundays. There are nice horse sculptures outside the museum. Be sure to check museum hours.

I've always wanted to visit when we've gone through Amarillo before. There are some great photo opportunities outside. Inside has a great genealogy chart. History of horses (current exhibit), horse anatomy, upstairs has the hall of fame and history about quarter horses through the years.
