If you plan on eating, make sure you pay attention to the time. On the day that we arrived at 2:45 p.m., they stopped cooking food at 3 p.m., even though the doors stay open until 5 p.m.

A great little place with lots of opportunities for the customary photo ops. A large sign at the roadside marking the halfway spot on Route 66 between Chicago and L.A. Painted signs are on the roadway, but beware there is still a bit of traffic...More

Mary, thanks for the kind comment. I sold the café to former café family this past spring so it is in great hands. I even left the pie recipes with them and Momma Sandi who worked with me the last 5 years making the creams for some of our pies is now the official and full time pie baker at the Midpoint Café. So unfortunately, you most likely won't see me next time you are on RT 66, but you will still be able to get the delicious Midpoint Ugly Pies. FYI, if you ever get down to middle TN, look me up as I am trying to set up a pie shop south of the Nashville area. Have a great summer. Dennis
