Our daughter recommended this winery. Although they had a special Valentines Day offering with many customers having reservations, they accommodated our visit. The wine was delicious and each wine was paired with cheese and chocolate. A very enjoyable visit. The wine is on the expensive side; we bought two bottles of wine which were about $50 each.
Even though this was the most expensive wine tasting we did on the brandy wine trail, it also offered the most flavors. They paired a cheese and chocolate with each wine you tasted. This was the one winery of the day where every wine I tasted, I thoroughly enjoyed even though I usually prefer sweet wines. I would highly recommend... More
This winery is well established and understands the growing process to produce drinking wines that are versatile, especially wines that can be paired with a variety of foods. The tastings are great with long pours and a good discussion about the grape production, harvest, barreling, and vineyard management. Amuse bouche is served between pours. After tasting, there is a small... More
Recommended by an Italian friend, Va La was a wonderful surprise, a wonderful afternoon! Not only is the tasting a great value, with four wines paired with cheeses, olive oil, and bread, but the wines are unique and good! Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, and didn't rush us; instead he adapted to our pace. The tasting bar is rustically... More
Finally visited this spectacular place yesterday and am so glad we did! The reds are probably the best I've tasted in PA! The complexity and variety this family is able to produce on a little over 7 acres is remarkable! Wines were excellent if you enjoy them dry, which I do! Cyndy our wine guide, could not have been more... More
Went to three other wineries in the Brandywine area and this was by far the best. Even though the price is $20 , your wine is paired with cheeses, breads, and chocolate. Well worth the price. Loved the Mahogany red wine. The cheeses are local and taste splendid. There are 2 tasting areas, one up and one downstairs. You can... More
Great stop when touring the Brandywine Valley. Don't get drawn in by the more advertised vineyards in this area. This is good! and better then most local wines. And the pairing with local cheeses and chocolates is a nice touch.
We had a lovely time at Va La enjoying a wine tasting and a jazz concert. For $20, you sampled "4 wines and a "splash" of a fifth wine." Each of the wines come with a food pairing and start off with a dry white and end with a dry red. The grounds in the back were relaxing and enjoyable... More
Surprising to find good wine in Pennsylvania. The wines are overpriced but they are good. So if you are going for a fun afternoon of wine tasting it's a great place to go. You can also bring a picnic lunch and purchase a bottle of wine and sit outside. It's a beautiful view overlooking the vineyard.
