Our end of September hike was glowing golden as we hiked along the Mt Ashland section of the PCT. Moderate hike through forests and open hillside meadows that must be a mosaic of color in wildflowers season. This day all was warm shades of Sienna, rusts and gold’s against a blue blue sky. The little aspen groves were rustling from... More

Great place for an afternoon of skiing. No lines during the week. Huge views of Shasta and the Cascades.

What a view. This is the first time we had traveled to the top of Mt. Ashland. The view was incredible. Glad we had our 4 wheel drive.

If you like to explore by car, you can take 2 or 3 hours from your camping trip, or say, your theater weekend in Ashland, and drive up Mt. Ashland. There are some lovely views, interesting geology, flora & fauna, and the road intersects the Pacific Crest Trail. A nice summer morning or afternoon can be spent on this drive... More

Hot? Then head 20 minutes up !-5 to cool mountain weather. Believe me..bring a sweater AND a coat, even in summer. It can be windy, and 30 degrees cooler! Not the best skiing but a fun little family resort. I used to live in Ashland and we enjoyed all seasons on the mountain.

We went up to check it out since we were in Ashland. There are very nice views of Mount Shasta and if the air quality had been better, there would also have been view of Castle Crags. There is also a good view into Oregon. There is some hiking in the area as well. It is worth the short drive... More

The drive right up to the summit looks a bit scary from the bottom up, but it's doable in a regular vehicle that isn't abnormally low to the ground. Although its a steep single-lane road with infrequent turnouts there are places you can pass the infrequent cars coming down. We got an impromptu guided tour of the Doppler radar station... More

Mt Ashland Ski area has been a problem for snow riders.. Poor unprofessional management has alienated many locals with poor service really BAD food and slow prep to get runs open for snow riders.....

Since the ski area management turnover 2 years ago, the ski area has been much more responsive to community concerns and wishes. We added numerous healthy options in the Cafe with more new options scheduled for the coming ski season. We've also been spending the past few months upgrading our lifts to ensure we can open when it's safe. Our... More

THe Pacific Crest Trail goes through here and some great hiking. There is a great hike which starts about 2 miles PAST the ski area. The road is all gravel and narrow, so drive slow. However, in summer you DONT need AWD. Once you get to the trail (it is at a place where the road comes to a fork),... More
