You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

We have been going for over 30 years - making 2-3 trips a year to see most if not all of the productions. Even if a play is weak, the production is always 5 star. It is a park your car and walk the rest...More

A confusing mish mash of craziness, totally unlike its brochure blurb. No Romans, no vast sweep of history, just some vague modern day South American clad storm troopers or Smokey the Bear fire rangers, hard to tell which. Varies between Cleopatra's time and modern day,...More

My wife and I had wonderful time when we visited the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, OR. We sat in the Lithia Park where the river flows by. We were so relaxing while we listened the sound of the river. There are some nice cafes nearby...More

It was a beautiful play. The actors and actresses were very convincing and portrayed their characters well. The difficulties would be if you are not used to sitting for long performances. There is an admission, but I have trouble sitting for long times so even...More

We come to Ashland every year to catch at least one Shakespeare play and several of the other productions they put on. This year we have loved "Pericles," "Guys and Dolls," and "Much Ado about Nothing," and we are looking forward to the mystery tonight,...More

We love the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We love Ashland, Oregon. What a combination, great theater and fabulous food & drink. As with any performance venue you have to take the not-so-good along with the truly knock-your-socks-off plays. A lot of it is in your expectations...More

This is excellent theater in a charming little town. Three theaters, eleven plays during a 9 month season, and an outstanding acting company. For many years we have gone up to Ashland in the spring and fall in order to see all the plays (350...More

Our first OSF experience was superb. Already we're planning to go back even though it's 400 miles from home. On-line ticket sales were seamless; happily for us there'd been a late cancellation for the show we wanted to see (Guys & Dolls, five-star!) and tickets...More

This is a don't miss. This year we saw Guys and Dolls (a don't miss), Pericles (very enjoyable), and Long Days Journey into Night (absolutely great acting). I wish we could go back and see the rest of the season.
