You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

We only stayed one night and we were delighted to secure tickets to A Wrinkle In Time. Wonderful production all around; stage setting, acting, lighting, direction.

I'm mid-40's and new to the Shakespeare festival. Never went to any plays or musicals but ended up having a great time seeing several performances. Ashland is a bit out of the way but totally worth the journey. The productions are world class. Theaters are...More

We come every year and are always so impressed with the variety of plays produced and the quality of the acting and staging. Broadway isn't any better or more professional. We saw Cocoanuts and literally spent two hour laughing out lour with the rest of...More

What a treasure we have in this corner of Oregon! In the village of Ashland the restaurants, parks, even street people, all swirl in the galaxy of theatre and Shakespeare. A lively mix. A warm September evening could have been enough; but here we were:...More

We love Ashland and come twice a year for the plays. This fall we saw five plays in three days. We loved two of them, hated one, and really liked the other two. But regardless of whether you like a specific play, the experience is...More

We have been driving the 5 hours to get here every year for about six years now. We stay for a week and see every play in the lineup. This is so much more than Shakespeare. They do have a outdoor Elizabethan stage modeled on...More

A wide variety of plays with excellent acoustics and line-of-sight in all three theatres. The Shakespearian open-air theatre was a special treat. Allow time to enjoy one or more shows ... it may well become a "life memory"

The quality of both the contemporary theater as well as the shskespeare was excellent. Ashland continues to provide quality productions in attractive settings. If doing the outdoor at night expect it to be cool and dress accordingly. The seats are plastic and hard. Either rent...More

We loved the 2014 all female cast of "The Two Gentlemen of Verona." My husband was a first time play watcher, but he was not disappointed.
