You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

Much Ado About Nothing Very Entertaining! I really enjoyed the performance at the Bowman Theater on July 1. I think the actors were talented, with perhaps, the exception of Claudio, who seemed to lack fire. I think the interpretation into present day flowed, with the...More

We saw 4 plays over 5 days in Ashland, each superb. The actors were exceptional, staging was original, and the theaters themselves comfortable and with excellent acoustics and visibility. Downside: much too expensive. The audiences were almost entirely affluent seniors - who else can afford...More

I say four plays at OSF. Fingersmith was by far the best of the four plays I saw. A good mystery play with a lot of twists and turns that one does not see coming, with great acting by all cast members. Much Ado about...More

We saw five productions this year in what was our 15th visit to the OSF over the past 30 years. The quality of the OSF always increases but this year we couldn't help feeling that there was an overemphasis to politicize most productions, whether they...More
