We had the most amazing time!!!! The NCZoo is amazing! Our only regret is that we didn't allot enough time to see everything on our trip! We are returning so we can spend more than one day!!!! It is truly worth the extra money!!!!!

The zoo has a wide selection of animals, including a fantastic polar bear exhibit. There are also a few areas for kids to play. The water play area is a treat during the warm weather. Be prepared for a lot of walking, including some hills.

We arrived at 9:30 on a weekday-and so did multiple buses of schoolchildren! For the first hour or so we had to weave our way around all the children, but after an hour or so they thinned out. Yes, there is a lot of walking...More

I love this zoo. Not being an urban zoo, they have an unbelievable amount of space for the fine collection of animals. People seemed to love the zoo but complained about how spread out it was and the requisite walking involved. This puzzles me, as...More

The zoo is the perfect day trip in my opinion. I got to here at roughly 10:00am and was done by 2:00pm. All of the animals where easy to see and it wasn't to crowded.

This zoo is nestled in the forest in a secluded and quiet setting. It is a very calm and relaxing place to walk and observe African or North American animals in spacious exhibits. We were particularly impressed with the elephants near the waterhole and the...More

This is a yes/no situation. Sometimes they are very close to the small pond that separates them from the waist high railing. You can get great photos there. If they are being fed then they are at the back of the exhibit.
