This statue has been constructed as Victory Monument at the center of Ankara, Ulus Square in 1927 with a nationwide fund. It contains founder of Modern Turkey, Ataturk and 3 figures. Two soldiers and one woman carrying a canonball during the war.

Very nice statue and interesting to see Turkey's history, but wow are there ever a lot of pigeons here! Makes for cool photos with them all flying around if you can risk flying under them!

Where do you find a beautiful Statue of Ataturk on his horse but in the "old town of Ankara." Ataturk was the "father of modern Turkey." Sometimes he is referred to as the "George Washington" of Turkey.
