One of the most seen places in Ankara you should visit. Amazing atmosphere and lake where you can enjoy.

We love Eymir Gölü! We go here often and always have a wonderful and relaxing time. Most of the time we rent bikes and ride around the lake. Several times I've gone by myself to just sit in the trees and read. Surprisingly it's not very crowded, except maybe on nice weekend days when everyone like to picnic. This place is our respite from city life. The paved road through the area does allow cars so we've needed to train our kids on how to bike with cars passing you, but it's not busy. The path is wide enough for cars and bikers/runners/etc. We also enjoy sitting at the cafe/restaurant overlooking the water and watching the ducks - though bees are everywhere and I'm hoping they can find a way to help make them less of a nuisance (some places burn coffee to control flies and bees). One of our very favorite places in Ankara!

We have rented bikes here-- winter spring and summer. Great place to take the family, especially if you are dressed appropriately. It was nippy in winter. Needed gloves to protect hands on handlebars. We went one day and since we had no umbrellas, we waited out the downpour and sipped tea in the restaurant associated with our bike rental establishment. There are several restaurants and it is very pleasant to order a small sandwich and a beverage, or even a full "Turkish breakfast." Many walkers, joggers, famiies with babies in strollers, and in the warmer weather, picnic-ers popuate the park and surrounding forests. Lovely place to go for a few hours. Unless you have a car, you need to hire a taxi to get there in a timely manner.

Lake Eymir is a great place to go with family or friends on a sunny day. Hire a bike or walk around the lake. There are plenty of lakeside cafes/restaurants to stop and relax with lake side views! P.S. Please take dog biscuits to feed the local lake dogs. They are friendly, and certainly need and appreciate the extra food.
