Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Majestically rising up in a square, this church commands attention. Colourful, towering statues are dotted around the perimeter and inside the church. Always busy with worshippers. It is next door to Quiapo Market.

I remember this place as Sunday's to go of our family. This is where my papa and mama thought me how to pray and have faith in God. So I suggest you to go here whenever your feeling down and seek for whatever your hearts desire. The presence of this place will change you in a good way

Quiapo Church is also known as the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene. The basilica is the home of the shrine of the Black Nazarene, a dark statue of Jesus Christ which many devotees claim to be miraculous. The church is of baroque style. If you are Catholic, you can hear mass here and then go around the shops surrounding it. Just beware that there are a lot of pickpockets and scam artists here, even inside the church.

I hired a driver for the day to take me anywhere I wanted to go at my leisure. I had really wanted to visit this locale however he didn't want to go with me here at this stop and he told me to watch my phone and to hold onto it. He sat in his car and locked the doors. It was quite crowded and I stayed here all but 2 minutes as it was service on Sunday. Don't go on Sunday or without a large group as there is safety in numbers.

They say Jesus of Nazarene is miraculous. But it still all depends on the faith that we have. I like to attend the mass here. Although there a lot of people, but if you are just focused, you can feel how strong the presence of God is. Just be careful when you buy something outside. The people are taking advantage if you are a newbie to the place. Most of them are not honest. They'll try to trick you. Example, if you want to buy candles, ask first the price. If not, you'll be shocked that it's worth P100 and you have no choice but to pay because it was already lit. Be extra careful too with your things (esp. gadgets and wallet).

Considering its location, with proper planning it could have been a magnificent historical building (and a place of worship) with the Pasig River as the backdrops. However, as it happens, the chruch is now surrounded by unplanned and uncoordinated jumble of roads, markets and structures teeming with people (not very safe either). So much so that is quite possible to easy to miss this signinificant building if one is not paying attention. Shame on the church administration also for not really keeping he structure itself in pristine condition- both inside and out. At least they are not short of funds in the Philippines.

Site of many Catholic novena devotees. Here, you'll feel people really praying and communiong with God, bringing their petitions
and prayers and requests .. Plaza Miranda right outside the church was the scene of the largest citizen protests against the government

this place is amazing but ruined by its surrounding. I hope people are more disciplined especially when it comes to cleanliness.
