This is just a Victorian clock tower like many, many others around Britain (and the former Empire), but as it is one of the few historic sites in the Seychelles it has become the landmark of Victoria.
It is right in the middle of the main roundabout, impossible to miss if you have a walk around the town, but barely worth more than a look.

The small version of the Big Ben in London is in the middle of a busy road in Victoria so one cannot usually get very close to take a picture next to it. We opted to drive past a couples of times and took pictures as we drove past.

It's in the middle of the only roads in the Seychelles that are busy with traffic and there is little to see here. Don't go out of your way but if you're in the area you might as well drive or walk past it for a quick look.

In July 2023 I along with my wife landed in SEYCHELLES a beautiful country of East Africa to meet our son living in this beautiful country. It's really a mesmerizing country due to its natural beauty. Each and every corner of this beautiful country is worth visiting. It has beautiful Beaches full of tourists from all over the world. Here I will mention about the most iconic landmark of Seychelles i.e. VICTORIA CLOCK TOWER, It was made in 1903 in the center of the capital Victoria in memory of Queen Victoria (who died in 1901) This monument is the main focus of all the tourists arriving this country.

This charming Clock Tower was dedicated to the late monarch, Queen Victoria who died in 1901. The Tower was manufactured in England, shipped to the colony and dedicated on the 1st April 1903. It is an exact copy of the clock at Victoria Station in London and resembles Big Ben. The Light fittings on the tower are a great addition & look great! Funnily enough, the Tower never chimed till 1999, when after repairs & restoration, it started to work as built! Sits in the middle of a busy intersection and would love to know how many times it's been struck?

Worth to stop and taking a look. Tiny little clock in a small capital city of the Seychelles. You'll need a maximum of two hours to walk all the streets in Victoria.

The Victoria clock tower has been important, especially in the old days for its clock, so people could check what time it is, before wristwatches became common. It is the reason why the locals call it in their Creole language 'Lorloz' from the French 'l'horloge'. Tourists nowadays might find it useful as a point of orientation since it marks the centre of downtown Victoria.

The clock tower, made from cast iron by the well known firm Gillett&Johnston in Croydon, was brought here in 9 pieces and then reassembled. Inauguration took place in 1903 by the then administrator, sent from Mauritius, who only 4 months later was named the first governor of the Seychelles, after the islands had been made a crown colony.

The clock tower is a copy of 'Little Ben' from 1892 that stands near Victoria station in London and it was paid for by public donation. Originally black it was painted silver in 1935 with the Jubilee of King George V.

The clock tower, affectionatly named 'Little Ben' in honour of it's London counterpart, is situated in the centre of a busy roundabout in the nations capital.
On a busy day, it can be hard to view, unless on foot, and this should be from the pavement due to the traffic having a mind of its own. The chimes of the clock seemed to be missing a few at noon when we visited, but that added to its charm.

Not much to see in this clock tower but you cannot miss it as you walking in town because of its central location.
