Once you have got use to the smell, it is a fish market after all, you will discover a great market, buzzing with an extraordinary display of fishes. Really worth a visit.

We did a walking tour of Male on our own and passed by the local market . Amazing fresh produce on offer for sale. There seemed to be many types of fresh produce from lots of countries of the world. Good experience

The prices are very high but I assume there are different prices for locals and expats. Maybe with a good bargain you can get something

Another stop over while touring the city. Can get a fresh coconut to drink and a local version of bounty coconut chocolate bars. 1 USD for a drinking coconut.

Male is probably the smallest city in the entire world. You can walk through the entire city. A one hour tour on foot is sufficient to cover the whole city. Shopping is very expensive since everything is imported in the island. The only thing which...More

The Male Fish Market is where everyone goes but the Produce Market is also worth a visit for its colourful bananas, egg plant and more.

I found this market very interesting. The coconut water was very fresh. The local fruits and vegetables are sold at very reasonable price.

It's pretty much in the middle of the northern shore. If you're at Republic Square (the main square with the big flag) and facing the sea, turn left along the coast and it's a minute or two away.
