- Baldomero80Birmingham, United Kingdom25 contributionsAn evening in Little IndiaWe visited during a wet evening, just after some heavy rainfall. The area is easily accessed through the Monorail line and the KL Sentral station. A worthwhile trip if seeking authentic Indian food and shopping, although there are no must see attractions here, the appeal of the area was its ambience, which thanks to the street food and other vendors, made you feel you could be in India. In a city that is modernising fast, this area felt like a window into an older part of KL.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 April 2024

Plenty of places to eat (mainly South India, with some hard to get specialist Tamil Kitchens) shopping, temples or just savour the unique atmosphere.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 5 June 2024

Having been to India, walking up and down the main street certainly felt like the real India.
The smells, the spices, the clothing and the people.
There didn't seem to be a lot of tourists, but that could be that it was the wet season when we visited.
We took the train and monorail from KL and it was a great way to see some of the other areas. Quick and easy to use. You have to walk through Nu Central Shopping Mall to get to the area.
On the way back to KL we took a GRAB which was 10MYR.

Ii is a very interesting place to visit as the name suggest it. A bit disappointed to find this totally different from India. The clothes are a bit pricey compared to India and the place does not look tip top it is a bit untidy. When I visited there I tasted the food which was not to to my liking. The food is India is delicious . Also in South Africa. There were not many tourist when we visited . Took hop and hop bus to this destination.

This place caters to the needs of Indian households and everything that they need. It is located in the city centre and also functions as the centre of business for Indian traders and business people... you get everything here, from saree shops to eateries and Indian sweet shops, provision shops to flower shops and other retail businesses... it's all here!.. This place is very popular even among tourists and is always lively as ever!

You can get most of India here from textiles to food. You can find amazing Indian Sweets on the roadside. The flowers remind India. The majority of the South Indian feel here. Colorful. Not much to do here but worth exploring the shops

We caught the LRT to KL station and exited the shopping mall heading right toward the elephant structure and turned left walking down and up both sides of the street. As expected not very big however was interesting. stopped an grabbed some freshly cooked treats (curry puffs, battered chickpea and jackfruit). Day was hot 39 degrees so take plenty of liquids..

I would say that Brickfields is one of the more interesting Little India that I have visited, in relative to the ones I have seen in Singapore for instance. It is bustling with vibrant shops!
Nonetheless, it is not an essential stop while you are in KL. And compared to the real India, it is rather so-so. Still worth a visit if you have extra time though!

Girls, if you're looking for the most gorgeous fabrics you have ever laid your eyes upon at obscenely low prices then Little India is for you! Fabulous tailors who craft the most glamourous of gowns for an absolute bargain of a price. I've been visiting KL once a year for the past 7 years & ALWAYS the tailor in Little India is my first stop. "Jaykel" is THE place to find the finest fabrics but with that said everywhere you look you'll be amazed at the colors & textures available. It's always crowded, bustling & busy and you've gotta love that!
Don't even bother with tailors in other areas. I was originally told to go to some in Bukit Bintang & was disappointed at how expensive they all were, so don't waste time & get yourself to Little India straight away.
Of course there's much more to Little India than just fabric & tailoring- loads of tradtional Indian food, clothing etc, the department store SOGO - but let's face it- for the girls it absolute clothes design heaven!!!

Is this easy to get taxi from Airport to KP city for 4 person with luggage and how much it will cost..is Uber available
Written 15 February 2018
Yes it is very easy to get taxis. You can go taxionline and book. It cost us about 100 dollars. I did the taxi booking online for both arrival and departure. After that u keep the receipt and when book ask for "Meet and great." They will pick u with your name on a board. Or else when you arrive there is taxipoint u can book and they will send u a taxi. Taxis drives whole night and it is very safe.

What are all the tourist attractions in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi to visit in February
Written 3 February 2017
In Kuala Lumpur there are the Petronas Towers, the fountains at night outside the towers, China Town, Brickfields, the Royal Palace, Central Market, there are gardens, Batu Caves are not an expensive taxi ride away they are worth a visit. I like just soaking up the atmosphere.
I haven't been to Langkawi but I'm told the beaches are lovely.

bonjour,

I am going to be in KL during Chinese new year. Is everything going to be closed? nothing to do? thank you very much!
Written 3 November 2015
Most things will be open but some temples will be hard to get into because of new year celebrations and most of the attraction's will be open as as well.
Have a great time there it is magical.
