For starters, I'm a resident in Malaysia, but as I didn't have the 'resident card' I had to pay tourist rate. I know it's not much, but it's annoying as I showed the lady my visa and she wasn't having any of it. Reason why I don't have 1 is because of all the fakes that have been made. Laughable.... More

Though you are not allowed inside the palace still it's a good photo stop. Nice horse guards and beautiful view is worth visiting.

Went there with colleague because it is part of our task for Treasure Hunt. A very nice place to visit especially when you want to learn about Malaysia's constitutional monarchy system.

i dont understand why people want to come here and take pictures. - the palace is newly built and nothing special to it besides the fact that it is the offficial palace to the current official ruler of Malaysia (similar with British monarchy but with rotation system as there are 9 states with Sultan in Malaysia) my advice, go to... Went to Istana Negara by Uber which tried to take us to the real (important peoples) entrance not the place tourists take photos. You can take photos but nothing else to do. There is no shade so on a sunny day you stand in the sun taking photos into you get too hot then you leave.

I would not waste time over this but since it was part of our city tour visited this place. You cant enter the palace grounds and will end up watching the gates and guards in place. When we were there they were changing guards which was delightful to watch. IMO a glance as you drive across is more than sufficient... More

It's actually very beautiful building, but if you drive here by yourself, it's pretty disappointing because there's not much you can see here. You can only take a picture from the outside, or maybe take a picture with the guardians and some horses that guard the palace, and that's it.

Great Location as it is near the city. The Palace was beautiful with the gates and writing looking luxurious. Great photo shot with the place to the north and to the south a great view of KL. Lots of Parking and great facilities such as toliets. The bad thing is that you can't enter
