About
Check out KL Forest Eco Park, a lush forest reserve located in the heart of the city next to the KL Tower. This nine-hectare park is home to over 200 tree species and wildlife, like the silver leaf monkey and long-tailed macaque. A highlight is the Canopy Walk, which offers stunning views of the park's oldest trees, such as the Jelutong and Merawan Batu. There are also many hiking trails to explore. The best part? Admission is free. Visit in the morning for fewer crowds, and take advantage of the cool shade offered by the trees. You can easily explore the park as part of a city tour of Kuala Lumpur's best sights. – Tripadvisor

- Dominique H85 contributionsKL Eco ParkWe visited the park in the morning. The canopy trail gave us good views of the park below and of the city skyline in places. Doesn’t take long to walk around - 30-50 minutes depending on your interest in trees. Just beware of the monkeys as when we were there one tried to attack a couple.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 21 October 2023
- jonnibgood184 contributionsFun to walk over the hanging bridges, just next to the KL TowerA fun place to enjoy nature and walk over hanging bridges and just next to the KL Tower. The entrance is from the car park drop off of the KL Tower. The family enjoyed running along the hanging bridges to let off some steam after the KL Tower and enjoy the natural environment. Cost was MR40 per adult and free for kids. Mosquito repellent recommended.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 20 December 2023
- Traveller1001Uk144 contributionsNow charging for entrance and it’s cash onlyWe got to the entrance then found out that it was cash only for entry so we had to leave and find an atm. When we returned we were about to go in but a couple leaving said not to bother. It was very short and not worth the money. It used to be free but they now charge. So we cut our losses and spent the money on something else.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 January 2024
- SG_StuffSingapore, Singapore78 contributionsRustic shaded trailsExcellent uncrowded and real park. Spend a couple of hours walking the shaded trails and wobbly overhead suspended walkways. If you like rustic this is about as good as it gets in central KL. Some steep ish sections are unavoidable so not for those with breathing issues etc.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 January 2024
- De RejsendeDenmark283 contributionsGood experience in the middle of KLWe liked our walk in the park. Other reviews comment on the price, and yes, it might be a bit too pricy, but we still liked it. It is a part of jungle just in the middle of KL. There wasn't too many other guests, when we were there late in the afternoon, so we enjoyed walking around in the last part of the KL forest. It is such a contrast to the busy part of KL. We will recommend it. It is isomething different. NB! Signs could have been better, but you just walk up to the KL Tower - then it is easy to find at the top.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 January 2024
- Didi12 contributionsGreat!Great place to visit, took lots of great pics in the canopy & everyone was very friendly in taking pics of us or waiting patiently while we took pics. The guy at the entrance told us what path we should take & we followed his suggestion. Have to say the canopy was the best part & the rest wasn't worth the time or energy, really (went in July & it was very hot). It's right beside KL Tower, so both can be done one after the other quite easily. I'd go again to this one to take more pics.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 August 2024
- Naz4 contributionsA destination where the people are lovely and food is great, plenty to see and do . Never a dull momentAn excellent break . Enjoyed the food and the facilities the hotels offered . Our first stop was Sunway Resort Hotel . Absolutely brilliant hotel, ideal for families as the theme park is attached to the hotel and there is mall there too with an ice skating rink. Second stop was the Ritz Carlton, again ideal location for shopping and visiting other malls in a very close vicinity. Travelling around KL or is very easy using their Grab taxi service . Would definitely recommend this destination as I’m sure to visit againVisited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 August 2024

Walk through a jungle in the middle of the city! Kuala Lumpur is the only city in the world that has a natural rainforest situated right at its centre. The park is connected by 200 meters of walking bridges hanging among the trees. There are many different trails which vary in length, the Canopy Walk takes around 20 minutes. There may be monkeys in the trees!
We easily spent 2 hours wandering along the fun trails. First we did the Canopy Walk, which was great fun with some amazing views of the city skyline among the treetops! Then we walked back up the hill to take the opposite path down the hill to explore some of the trails.
Yes, they are not pristinely kept, but isn't that part of the charm?! We didn't want concrete pathways! we wanted twisty trails through the jungle - climb over that tree root! It's all part of the fun :-)
Seems as if only the main entrance is open at the moment, so we did a couple of big loop walks to arrive back at the start. Some great trails but sensible footwear is required, i.e. trainers. LOTS of up and down hill so be prepared! and take water to combat the heat. Also take bug spray! As there are lots of mosquitoes. We only noticed a couple at the time, but despite bug spray I had more than a dozen bad bites by the night (husband only had a couple). Advise to take bug spray with you and constantly reapply.
We arrived early in the morning, around 7.30am after walking up the hill from our hotel, and even then it was boiling hot in the jungle! Would probably recommend to get a Grab as they are so cheap and that hill is pretty steep!
After exploring the trails retrace your steps to return to the top of the hill (at entrance kiosk) to then go onto the KL Tower, less than 5 minutes walk away.
Tickets are 40MYR (£7) each, cash only. People are complaining that now have to pay when previously has been free, but we think the small (by UK standards) cost is well worth it. Maps are given out at entranceway. Open daily from 7am to 6pm.

It is a unique place right in the middle of the city but it is overpriced. Since January 2020 they now charge a 40MYR fee for tourists. The walkways are run down and not managed at all and the map is very hard to read. The map will state that the paths are ‘easy’ when in fact they are not. Most are steep and some with unstable ground. The map has the trails colour coded but the signage does not match up making it difficult to read and understand. I would not recommend for elderly, families with prams or anyone who finds it difficult walking. I would not recommend this to any traveller going to KL, especially since you are now charged to enter the park.

We visited this attraction thinking it was still free to enter. It is now RM 40.00 per person. The only thing worthwhile in the park is the canopy walk which only lasts ten minutes. The rest of the tracks are in complete dis-repair or fenced off. The toilets were padlocked shut and all other exits from the park were locked so you had to walk all the way back round to the main gate to get out. I’m therefore left wondering where our entry fees are going, because they are certainly not going back into maintaining the park or facilities.

Seriously not worth the fee.
I did go in and although it was ok, I got bored quickly and soon left.
I wouldn't recommend it to most people, unless you really wanted to walk every trail inside for some reason.
Canopy walk is ok, but no amazing views or anything to justify spending the money.

The canopy walk is pleasant, hard to find those Instagram shots. A lot shorter than you are lead to believe.
Don't bother with the rest of the park, it has fallen into a state of disrepair with rotten boards, missing handrails, gates locked shut, overgrown picnic tables, pathways lifted through tree growth, extremely poor signage and very aggressive monkeys (keep small children between adults).

We visited with our two boys and they loved the canopy walkway.
The place is not updated, no signs about the trees that you can actually read.
The price is very expensive and they only take cash. We were allowed to go back down the trail after we had visited the tower at no extra cost and the kids was on the house because they didn’t have any change.
On the way down we wanted to go another way, but ran in to two barking dogs.
One of the dogs chased us up the stairs and the worker seamed to know about the dogs and scared the dog away, like he had done it before. A scary experience.
The place need an update, which is a shame because it’s such an great contrast to the big city and has a lot of potential.

I don't recommend this visit unless you really miss greenery because it's really expensive to pay (RM40) for a park in the city. We hear the traffic. The trails are not maintained and everything seems to be almost abandoned. The little suspension bridge route is very short and really not enough to get excited about nature. Apart from a few monkeys, we don't come across any animals and even if we indicate an orchid garden, there are no orchids.

I decided to walk through this park as I was going to the KL Menara and thought it would be a good way to combine the two. As the other reviewers have mentioned, there’s an entry fee for the forest walk and it’s a bit expensive for what you get, especially if you have to pay the foreigner entry fee. Yes, the canopy walk is an interesting way to walk through the park and get a different perspective of a forest. Having similar walks in East Malaysia on ground level, I’d say this one in KL pales in comparison. Nevertheless, it's a nice forest walk in the middle of a city.

This is a nice jungle area to explore in the middle of the city of KL. I visited in Dec 2019 when it was still free to enter. Shortly afterwards the entry fee was introduced: 40 MYR for foreigners. This is a bit expensive for what you get, and I think I would probably not bother going in at that price.

In total it's a waste of time and money. Entry is 40RM for foreigners, with the state of park it should be free. It doesn't have anything to do with garden where you can walk different paths and see/learn about different plants. The only attraction (I suppose just for kids) is a canopy short walk. None of the plants were signed to see what is that, also there was even no clear display of them (it look like it was growing just itself without any planning). It was just like walking a path around some trees and bushes, moreover there was nothing really distinctive etc. 2 or 3 paths were also closed. Entry and exit was through the same gate, which I only found out when I reached other entrance and had to return. In total everything was in quite bad state. However, I was also in Perdana Botanic Gardens and this place is great! There were some renovation for Orchid Garden so probably will be open soon. I was in Butterfly Park, entry 25RM. Maybe not upgraded place, but great with amazing plants and butterflies flying around. There was also exhibition of all insects etc, very interesting. It's totally better to go there instead of 'canopy park'.

Does all sections or towers of canopy walk undergoing maintenance as of September 2019?
Written 30 September 2019
I was there 3 weeks ages and the whole canopy walk was closed and didn’t look like it was going to open any time soon. There is no point in visiting the park if the walk isn’t open as it was fairly rubbish and in a poor state of repair.

Hi, what are the opening and closing timings for this park?
Written 4 May 2019
Some websites imply 7am-7pm
We got there a little before 5pm and the shop/information centre and tea rooms had all closed (5pm nominal closing time) The security guard said that the grounds closed at 6pm. Sorry, I cannot help with opening times.

Does this lead to the Petronas Twin Towers?
I'm planning on doing this eco-park such that it leads to the Towers as I have this booked for the evening.

Thank you I went there today and your right it leads to the KL towers and not Petronas towers.
Yes it closes at 6pm.

Can I do this when it rains? I’ve read some reviews that mentioned it’s inadvisable to do so because of mosquitos and snakes. Please advise. Thanks.
Written 1 August 2018
I am not sure about the wildlife, but I would be more concerned about slipping or falling over, especially in heavy rain. Some of the slopes are quite steep.
