You could see the original site if the church after the bomb, what a pity the original church was almost completely destroyed by the bomb. The current rebuild church is very westernized.

I wanted to see Christian Japanese customs but was too late. Still the cathedral is very beautiful even from the outside. It stands tall and stoic midst the loudy urban jungle. We got some great pictures as it was sunset time when I went.

The cathedral is a typical church with stained glass windows. The draw is that it was at the center of the atomic bombing, completely destroyed & rebuilt. There are some artifacts from the original church in a small building beside the church

Just by the way to Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, nothing special here. Mass was inside when we were there.

We didn't go inside, just looked at the burned-out statues and the fallen bell tower. It really brings home what the nuclear bomb did.

The cathedral is not very dramatic since it was built after the bombing, but the torture stone on display outsiide is sobering. It will require some climbing if on foot, but is worth a look. The small museum located here is seperate from the church...More

Modern and built in a short time after the previous cathedral was destroyed on 9th August 1945, the place feels like an oasis for the spirit in a noisy world. After a visit to the Peace Park, this feels like a natural place to go...More

I wasn't sure what to expect of Nagasaki Cathedral but, having seen so many museums and memorials to Nagasaki's most moving history, it is gratifying to feel present faith being lived out without fear and in such peace. I only hope that Donald Trump can...More

Urakami has no English mass. The only Catholic Church I know which has English mass in Nagasaki is one near the 26 Martyr Monuments.
