Standing at 151.9m tall, Mt. Kazagashira offers a fantastic view of Nagasaki City.
From the observatory in the middle of Kazagashira Park, you can see out to Megami Ohashi (Venus Bridge) and it also offers a great view of the city against the mountains that Nagasaki is famous for.

It was my first time to visit this place with my Indonesian friend and it was worth the climb. We had a great time exploring the place and of course with flying a kite.
The place with the statue had a breathtaking view of Nagasaki City and we just couldn’t stop ourselves from taking a lot of pictures😅. You can even see Inasayama from there . It was extremely relaxing!
We also had a side trip to Kameyama Shachu Memorial Hall (亀山社中記念館) which made the trip more unforgettable. The local guides were friendly and they were able to explain to us the history of the place. Indeed, this place is highly recommendable.

We went to a kite specialist workshop and tried to fly one. Then we walked down the stairs to the park. We came when sakura trees were about to bloom and it was already nice! It would’ve been amazing with full-bloom sakura. There is a huge Sakamoto Ryoma statue and if you walk a bit, you will reach Kameyama Shachu Memorial Museum.

I had a really fun time visiting Kazagashira Park with Timo-san, Yuri-san and the other Huber guides. We picnicked at the park and ate Japanese bentos, watched a presentation about how traditional Japanese kites are made, and then flew kites in the park. It was a really wonderful day. After visiting the park, we walked back towards town and passed the statue of Sakamoto Ryoma. This was a very fun and informational walk. There were several spots along the way to stop at and talk about Nagasaki history. All in all, I had a very nice time visiting the Kazagashira Park with the Huber guides.

We were looking for this park and google maps wasn't very helpful but we managed to stumbled across it. Along the way we saw a few temples and lovely old bridge. It was all up hill and at times quite steep. The added bonus was the view was fantastic of Nagasaki and the statue not to bad either.

Was quite impressed on our visit here and the lovely views looking down from this area - I also enjoyed looking at the varied sculptures that are in this park but again there are no signs in English for tourists so one can only guess as to who the are or what they represent - such a pity as would like to have known more in the limited tone that we had in the area - need to do more for the tourists

Definitely worth a visit here though

I had a morning hike from my hostel near Nagasaki Station to Kazagashira Park and it took me around half an hour. Along the way I had to climb long flights of stairs through a cemetery. After passing through the cemetery, there are clear signs pointing to the observation deck at the summit. After I reached the top, I was rewarded by great views of the city and the harbour, without the crowds and noises that plague Mt Inasa. There is also a statue of Sakamoto Ryoma, a legendary warrior who played an important role in Japanese politics in the 19th century. As the park is located to the east of the city, a morning visit will give you better photos of the city as the sun is behind you. If you want a good photo of Sakamoto Ryoma's statue, an afternoon visit will be better as the statue is facing west.

Good place for light hiking exercise and having fun playing with kite. There is an old craftman who makes hand-made kites, where you can probably find kites with flag of your country.

Must go to if your a Ryoma Sakamo, Thomas Glover, and Shinsengumi fan but if your not, it may be best to avoid. It takes more than your average navigation and its all pretty much up hill for about an hour, yet its well worth it. There is also a Ryoma Sakamoto cafe in which you can don his clothes and hold a sward and the friendly staff will take your picture. There an awesome temple hidden on the way as well as classic walk ways and structures tht are picture perfect.
