Shinsaibashi is the only reason I travel to Osaka! The shopping is great with many small shops, and plenty of food choices to choose from, and it is next to many of the major attractions like Dotonbori

You can find a lot of different kinds of shops ranging from big brand names like Louis Vuitton to dollar stores like Daiso. There's a variety of restaurants to choose from as well. The shopping arcade is covered so it's great on a rainy day but can be very crowed. There's also a lot of nightlife such as host/hostess bars.

People say if you travel to Osaka, this is a place you must visit or you cannot tell others you've been to Osaka. However maybe my son and I are not very devoted to shopping, we enjoyed our time more on trying some snacks like iced bar, cheese tarts while shopping around. My son loves all the toy chest crane... This 600m shopping street is full of diverse range of shops from clothing, food and traditional items. Close to other interesting tourist spots like Dontonburi and Amerikamura.

I couldn't recall how many times we went back to this area during our stay in Osaka. This was despite the myriads of people we encountered each time we went back. There was also something about the place that made one feel alive. So much activity. But of course, there was also really so much shopping to do (at least,... More

While Dotonburi is considered a place for your beauty needs and food delicacies, Shinsaibashi is considered more of a place for apparels and any other things. The varieties of shops is just massive! And yes! You can grab good deals there!

Shinsaibashi is a busy shopping street in downtown Osaka, really near Namba, walking distance from the Swissotel Nankai Osaka in which we live during our trip. There are lots of products that can be purchased when you arrive at Shinsaibashi. There are in particularly lots of medical items from those stores in which you can easily purchase with tax refund... Shinsaibashi is one of the busiest shopping street i have seen in Japan. People are crazy shopping away. There are things to buy for everybody, old and young. The entire shopping street is made up of hundreds of small shops selling popular items. In addition to small retail shops, large Japanese departmental store, such as Daimaru, and International brands, like... More
