Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not sure what Joypolis means in Japanese but quite possibly it means SegaWorld. For anyone that ever went to the SegaWorld in Darling Harbor Sydney its exactly like that. Good simulation rides, 3d shows, small roller coasters, loads of video games etc.

If video games are not your sort of thing then I would probably stay away and head to a theme park. However I thought it was great value and enjoyed myself alot. Many things cost but there was plenty included in the entry fee.

Plenty to do for kids also, probably not much to do for Adults so again - head to a theme park.

Went in with just entrance fee (does not cover the park ride) and yeah~ I am a little old for those rides.

There's lot of soft-toy picking machine, I was expect to have arcade to play :'(

Losing to 18 year olds is too much for my poor heart but if you have a family with young children full of energy, this is the place to go. Trust me, they will be exhausted by the end of the day. A perfect opportunity for the parents to go out and have some fun

I'm pretty sure we had it coming. Osaka had been wonderful to us so far, and a guide book recommended we check this place out if you are adult nerdy types. We love video games, Sega and rides, so we figured we couldn't go wrong.
The arcade games are meager at best, just a few, and a "passport" doesn't get you squat in terms of the arcade games or really dumb photo booths that are obviously meant for teens spending money they shouldn't have.
We went on one ride. It was amusing, but getting into it was a hassle and a half, followed by a large dose of straight up embarrassing. We don't speak Japanese, so after about 10 minutes of the teenage ride gatekeeper laughing as she attempted to explain the security guidelines and then having us do some funny "repeat after me" chants in broken Japanenglish, they had just the two of us get on a ride and have everyone else in line wait. We did not understand why until the ride started and it was all in English. It turns out that they had an English version, so they had us do that one before everyone else had their ride, which was a kind gesture, albeit crazy alienating (and being westerners in Japan is alienating enough!). We wanted to do other rides, since we had already paid for them, but realized each one had some kind of ritual we would have to go through (getting shoes for a haunted house, doing some kind of dance, etc), and since these things were all required but no one spoke English combined with the threat that we may have to make other people wait for us to go with an English version, we decided to just get our two free tries of the claw machines and leave. That in itself was a hassle because in order to get a free try, you had to have a 19 year old manager unlock the thing for you and then watch as you failed at attaining whatever embarrassing geeky thing you were trying to get in the first place.
Things we could have done better as tourists:
1). Read the reviews and realized this place was not for adults
2). Walked in and saw that very few people were in their 20s and that there were almost no video games
3). Done the math that a passport would not have been saving us any money, even if we did try them all
Things that this place could do better:
1). Had more than just cheesy "3D" rides and photo booths and claw machines
2). Not require as much human contact, because we all know gamers love to talk to people
3). Be even remotely SEGA themed.

I will not complain about the lack of English anything as their fault because this is their country and I am a guest, and I love it here and am thankful for the great hospitality we have reviewed, even insomuch as changing the entire language of a ride so we would understand. What I will say is that if you are a twenty-something adult looking for games and rides, this is not the place for you. If you are a family with younger kids or teens who need some flashy light non-boredom time for a half an hour, go here, and try to stay off the rides if you do not speak Japanese. Do not get a passport. Do not expect anything more than the worst arcade you've ever been to combined with an entire floor of photo booths and rides that are animated with "3D" graphics that feature the same video quality as my Sega genesis.
Fail on both sides I think.

Fantastic wet day entertainment for teenagers. Even parents enjoyed it. Great indoor roller coaster. Don't bother getting stamp card to win iPad. .....just a waste of time. Enjoyed surrounding shops and navigating train system. Japanese locals happy to help if you get stuck.

Not sure if TripAdvisor feedback here are reviewing the same place? Of its changed since he last post?! Yes, I did see a 1/2 floor (level 9) full of soft toy machine for one play ¥100 or ¥500 for 6 plays. However there was a whole floor (level 8) dedicated to photo booths for young teenage girls for pictures and posing. Then most undesirable was the slot gaming machines (very like gambling machines) with adult males feeding their money into inter dispersed with video gaming machines. Not very suitable for out 8 & 11 yr old boys. Terrible noise pollution and absolutely minimal staff in attendance. Cannot seriously think this place is suitable for older teens either?! We stayed a good 5 minutes to spend ¥2000 on soft toy machines in order not to disappoint the 8 year old....and manages to win one green panda/hamster toy. Waste of time, unless you are into these sort of experiences.

Do not go there as this SEGA Game Centre has been closed since early May. Tripadviser may consider to remove this attraction from the top spot list.
世嘉梅田遊戲中心從五月初已經閉館了,剛剛上週去吃了閉門羹,只好坐摩天輪吧!請看看可否從大阪景點移除吧!以免白走一趟,失望而回。

This is the second visit . The first was a few years back . The attractions have not changed much . They have added Transformers . The place is still very well maintained and lots of fun for the children . We bought the after 5 pm pass . Normal entry is about Y4400 , after 5 pm pass Y3300 and there is also a after 8 pm pass . The place closes at 10 pm . We went at 6 pm with a 45 min dinner outside and we could not finish all the rides . Elderly above 60 free admission but one must pay for rides inside ( about Y600 per ride) . If you do not want to ride all , you can also pay Y500 for admission and the rides only. One can spend about 4-6 hours in this place.

We did the wild river ride and did enjoy it, but waited for about 30 minutes.

The ride itself was about 10 minutes and cost 600 yen or is free with Osaka amazing pass.

Good way to kill time or for a rainy/cold day, but wouldn’t say it’s a bust do.
