Moss covered statue

This small tiny temple is in the center of a busy tourist area and it is very crowded. People come to throw water at the statue hence it is covered in moss ad it is forever wet.

I love this little area of Osaka. I try to visit each time I go to Osaka. Beautiful during the day and lively at night. Try the restaurants and explore the area.

Go in the day as well as night-time if you have the chance. Don't miss the moss-covered statue. There are many good restaurants along this old street. Would recommend visiting this old alley; you'll feel a sense of tranquility and it's a good respite from the city.

Quiet place located within Dontonburi. Took us awhile to locate the place. Worth a short visit. It is rather peaceful unlike the rest of the place. Do visit it at night.

This was a nice little stop surrounded by streets of restaurants and stores. It was also fascinating to see the moss covered statues that were repeatedly dowsed with water by patrons, praying for good luck. If you're interested in Buddhist culture, it is a definite must stop.

Amazing to find this temple near dotonbori. Whenever you are tired from shopping and eating at dotonbori, its a great idea to stop here for a break since this temple is located in one of the side alleys in dotonbori. Interesting to watch the locals pray here even late at night.

A small alley near dotonbori. Visited a great barbecue place that sells Matsuzaka wagyu. Had it both cooked and raw. superb alley with variety of great restaurant choices!

Loved the old town feel and the food was good! Only downside is everything on the menu is in Jap, so be brave and walk in! You'll be amazed at what you find in these lil restaurants.

A very interesting small side alley which doesn't seem in the right place. Totally tranquil, authentic old day charm. The buddha statue is watered so much that inches of Moss grow and cover all of it. A small shrine is build next to it for people to pay homage. Very good vegetarian restaurant next to it, and lots of eateries... More
