One of life's hidden gems. The gardens by the river are a delight, even more so when cherry blossom is out. Well signed in English various points if interest. Superb museum, well layed out over two floors. Sadly all signs in Japanese but well worth a visit.

The mint is wonderful to see the Cherry Blossoms it only opens for about two weeks a year usually at the end of March beginning of April, this is a wonderful and beautiful place to see there are also lots of stalls along side the river seeking food and gifts.

I was lucky to be there at the right moment to admire the cherry blossom. It is uncredible to see so many different types of beautiful flowers.

We didn't visit the Mint, but we took full advantage of the week when they open up their gates for everyone to meander along the long path admiring their extensive range of late blooming cherry blossoms. If you are in town at the right time, go and visit during the day and at night. A bit of a walk from... More

Travellers who missed the peak sakura season or want to experience more of the beautiful flowers can visit the Japan Mint for late-blooming varieties. Entry is also free! There are multiple kinds which provide many opportunities for photos. There is limited English information, but the flowers speak for themselves. The place can get very crowded; an early visit is recommended... More

We had our last chance to see cherry blossoms in full bloom at the Osaka Mint Bureau. They have varied types of Sakura trees. And less people too. So we were able to enjoy our photoshoots. Admission is free, you only have to submit your names at the gate.

The staff were friendly and helpful even with our limited Japanese. There are some cool displays to see and a couple of interactive activities that provided a few minutes of entertainment. The highlight... More
