We went at the end of March, and although there were no cherry blossoms yet, we caught a good glimpse of plenty of plum blossoms that were in full bloom at the end of winter. Tenman-gu is very spacious and easy to walk around, with...More

a lively shrine, with large jingle-type prayer bells that orants pull. Cows are associated with this scholar-made-a "kami." Students come here to pray for good exam results. So placid but muscular cows in bronze are scattered about, with their red bibs on shrine holidays. Nearby...More

Another beautiful shrine, especially in March, at the time of plum blossoms. Not as crowded as others in Kyoto

Premise: I visited the temple during march, when the many plum trees of the temple bloom. The plum blossom was incredibly nice! Less crowded and more "zen" than the cherry blossom, here you won't see people seated, eating & drinking. Mostly older, japanese people come...More

If anybody is a fan of Noragami, you would know that Tenjin is enshrined here-- Other than that, Kitano Tenmangu is a shrine which is quite fun to visit due to the number of cow statues around. Spend some time hunting for them.

This is a beautiful shrine. It's nice to witness the plum blossoms on spring time and the leaves during autumn. It is best to take the bus going to this place.

We visited the Kitano-tenmangu in a snowy afternoon in February. The Grand Bach hotel we stayed put notice of the plum blossom places with the update information of the stage of the flower booms. The Kitano-tenmangu plum tree garden is opened for a 700 yen...More

The best mix of buildings and gardens. Try and go when there is a market in and around the shrine. We had the plum blossom and there was a geisha show on. Market was fantastic. Lots of praying so more to see and appreciate.

Nice place to hang out especially when it's really hot in mid august or during the fall changing leaf times.

Not many tourists come to the Kitano Tenman-gu shrine. Whereas the locals are here in force. Students pray for good results. The prayers bells, the clapping and the sound of money hitting the wooden containers is ceaseless. There is a long line up to pray...More

A district with a long textile heritage, ancient Kyoto
is still alive in the Nishijin District. Studded with

self-possessed air. Less traveled than other parts of
the city, it is a district where you can take it at
your own pace. Visitors can explore the many weaving
and cloth houses, the free kimono shows, and the many

Kitano has great plum blossoms, but I don't know the blossom date and it obviously varies according to weather conditions. Suggest you contact a hotel concierge and ask when the blossom normally takes place
