The temple was simply breathtaking. It was huge and the intricate designs were truly amazing. During the time I visited it wasn't too crowded and it was fun to see. There is a shop inside of the area. However, it wasn't something that one would...More

This place is most famous for seasonal sights like fall colors, but I recommend it anytime of the year. It is within walking distance from Fushimi-Inari shrine, unless it's the middle of a hot day. The rock garden is a great stop if it is...More

Was quite disappointing actually seeing that the temple was in such a large area but just so normal and need to climb a couple of stairs. However quite alot of renovation going on too and nothing much to see or buy.

We spent 1/2 hour at this garden on the same day we visited the Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine. The two places are only 25 minutes walking distance. This was a pretty nice temple and we loved the rock garden the most. This temple was also crowded......More

The history behind the zen gardens is really interesting. It's such a lovely place to explore and contemplate. Although it's not breathtaking, it's unique and definitely worth a visit.

We walked from Fushimi Inari to Tofuku-ji Temple in about 20 minutes. The temple is huge. There are many large beautiful halls before the admission booth. The inside hall is also beautiful. The Tsutenkyo bridge was also impressive.

We spent ten days in Kyoto visiting all of the recommended attractions. We had rented an apartment in the Tofukuji region of the city and would pass by the temple walls everyday on our way to and from the apartment to JR Station. We would...More

strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine
itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the
mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers,
picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the

There are many flights of steps to get to the temple. Some of the pavement are laid with gravels. Suggest you carry your baby in a sling.
