All lit up and beautiful this TEmple had many diplays of art and culture and multimedia videos, there was even a Bamboo forest on sight. I loved it.

Do note that main building is being refurbished and you have strictly no access to it - it seems huge and beautiful, so once completed you can go for it, meanwhile not really worth it.

This was one of our favourite temples in Kyoto, it was a lot lot less busy than the more famous temples but both the temple and the gardens are excellent.

At kodaiji site there is a separate info for 'illumination'. Also helpful is japan-guide for general information.
