Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visit on November 24. The only thing to see is the temple with about autumn colors. There are no gates or walls, so you can see the autumn colors from outside the grounds without entering the temple grounds, but if you want to see them up close, you should still see them. The admission fee is also cheap, at 300 yen.

Continue straight for approx 50 metres without turning right into the Sanzen-in, and you will find the Shorin-in. The uneven stone path, the old lanterns, and the beautifully proportioned building testify of greater importance in a bygone age. Easy to photograph as 95% of the herd stampedes of the bus and into the Sanzen-in. Very Nice!

The gardens at Shorinin were truly outstanding. Not as busy as other sites in Kyoto, the water features, dry garden and garden at Shorinin were among our favorites.

While it's garden is not as large and beautiful as the other ones in the area, the temple itself is by far the most impressive in ohara and probably also the largest room. There is also a giant Buddha inside. Shrines and graves in the garden are also beautiful. Only 300 yen entrance. Go for it!

This is well worth the short drive from Kyoto...there are several beautifully unique temples located down lovely garden paths...the countryside is spectacular!
