There is a lot of people but the site is quite big so you can have you instagram picture easily. I went there by bike its like 15km from kyoto station

The bamboo forest itself was underwhelming, but the walk through the park, by the river, under the cherry blossoms was most enjoyable! Gets crowded, so get there early.

Visited at around noon when there's already lots of people. The bamboo forest is nice but you can't get a pic with so many people around so its best to visit real early in the morning.
