The place where we had nightlife and dining experience when we visit Sapporo. Walking distance from our hotel (Resol Trinity Hotel) and opening till late night (the ramen alley Still crowded past 10 p,m).

Interesting Yet Complex Location
Feb. 2020
Was there for the snow festival. The road name and direction dont seems to be easy to understand accordingly to the map, probably due to a busy cross junction road as we were searching for the famous ramen alley round the corner.

Pretty interesting place, with combination of red light district.

Explore Sapporo's night-life center
Oct. 2019
Every Japanese city has a nightlife district; Susukino is Sapporo's. The lights are bright and there are plenty of bars and restaurantrs to choose from. About the only hazard are partygoes who have had too much to drink. Prices can vary, find out how much you will be paying before you start eating and drinking, or you may get a shock.

A good place to hang out and take a walk. Plenty of entertainment and food areas. Lovely to be at night with while walking along the walkway.

It does not differ much from any other japanese glamorous district and it was fun to walk through it during the ice festival. It sure is worth a visit

Lively area

This is a great place to explore all day. There are restos that offer cheap but delicious meals. Just see where the locals usually have their lunch and you will be surprised you dont have to spend much to be satisfied.

Bars and Restaurants

Lots of restaurants, bars, karaoke and dance clubs, an entertainment district especially at night. A good place to stay during Hokkaido Snow Festival because snow carvings smd structures are nearby. Good place to explore at night too!

Snow festival 2020

It was very nice sculpture. The location not far from odori park. This is the smallest place for the snow festival but I could say it was very nice. Should come and visit again 2021.

Great for food & drinks but a doghouse for entertainment
Jan. 2020 • Friends
Susukino has fantastic restaurants and bars but in case someone has a bright idea of trying the lady places out you are in for a great disappointment in terms of service and quality.

Most hostess bars simply offer a blunt "only for Japanese" f-off straight from the door while joints providing more action produce monsters angled up from the deepest seas of Japan to manhandle horny foreigners brought in by pimps with the door shut behind and guarded by a yakuza.

Having moved around across Asia, I would put the lady "entertainment" scene in Susukino safely into the chilling two digit minus degree zone as can be expected of the Sapporo winter - way way way below any realities of the fun drinking spots in the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore etc. where you are really a guest and nobody will tell you to bugger off as long as you behave.

Truly the most unattractive feminine beasts seen in Asia dwell in the Susukino establishments so would not get any hopes or anything else up & going for a horror show if the idea is to try some of the entertainment.

Having seen so many reviews of the place somehow getting glorified being "a red light district", thought it to be only appropriate to provide my 2 cents of this district in comparison and it's rightful place at the very bottom of the list of similiar places seen in Asia. Hideous.
