The Ropeway gondola was made for sitting at the sides only but we were packed into the gondola like "Sardines and couldn't get a good view going up or down being crammed standing in the middle. Maybe we shouldn't have attempt to come on a long weekend evening! There were lots of Local Tourist & Koreans.
The view at the summit wasn't really spectacular. Like the other reviewer said, Mt Usu Ropeway and Hakodate Ropeway was way better.
We spent like 10 mins at the summit but was in the queue like 2hours!
It would be better to come at twilight for other than the citylights viewed from the summit, you cannot see the surrounding landscape, much less in the gondola.
Staff were having it hard managing the queue and it shows in their impatience! Overall disappointing experience!

The staff can not speak in english, and give uncomfortable experience. Even there is no seat, keep push tourist to go in. The staff is lazy count and operating the cable car. This is my bad experience in Japan

The ropeway is easily accessed via tram ( streetcar) . From the stop you can either take a short walk to the ropeway station or wait for the shuttle bus. The trip up the mountain is divided into two sections which you need to purchase tickets for . If you decide to stop at only the first station . There is a souvenir store here . At the peak there is a restaurant and a cafe and of course a fabulous view of the city

Great ride and it is worth the money. Remember to grab coupon in the streetcar which allows 200Y off. There is a shuttle bus once you get off Street Car and cross the road and walk few steps, you would see the bus stop with orang sign (or yellow, I forgot)

An ok ropeway as far as ropeways go. Nice view of Sapporo and all, and a yummy restaurant (Jewel) at the top that serves good food with the view. The other ropeways we visited in Hokkaido were more unique and interesting though.

I followed the directions from www.japan-guide.com to get here and it was very helpful. From Susukino, there's a streetcar that loops to the Ropeway Iriguchi station (fare is JPY170/way), and just 50 meters from the station, there's a free shuttle bus to take you to the entrance of the Ropeway. The round trip ropeway and mini cable car fare is JPY1700 per adult. When we got to the visitor center, the lady informed us it was cloudy and almost no visibility. It was literally freezing cold but we still took the chance, hoping that it would somehow clear when we get there.
It was small hope but it was enough because we were still able to take pictures and at least we saw something. It began to really clear when we were on our way back. Unfortunately my camera wasn't powerful enough to capture the scenery because it's not good for low light. I do have a friend whose camera I borrowed so I could take some memorable shots. I'll upload it another time.
We'll come back in the daytime the next time we visit.

We booked a double entry pass of Sapporo TV tower (see separate review) and Mt Moiwa Ropeway before travelling to Japan with Expedia and it was well worth the money.
Although Mt Moiwa isn't the easiest to get to, we tried train and bus which was fun as we went late on a Saturday night after the Aus v Fiji Rugby World Cup match in niSapporo. However, don't be scared of local public transport in Japan its great.
We had the mid station and top station pass so you get to ride 1/2 way up then swap to a different car to the top.
The queues weren't too bad and the view
is well worth it, however be aware you are high so it's windy and can be cold at the
bell
We would definitely recommend Mt Moiwa as something to do in Sapporo as the views will be wonderful whatever time of day you go up.

Great views from the top. Excellent lunch as the cloud cleared. Ropeway most of the distance and then railway to the top.

I went here during winter season. It was extremely cold. I wish they had a room just near the bell where you could warm yourself during winter. The view is breathtaking! I’d recommend this place for a date. The night view is the best for me!!!

A very beautiful place. Affordable admission fee. A spectacular view once you've reached the top. Make some time to visit this place if you're in sapporo. Very friendly staff, they assisted us when we needed help with getting back to the train stations. Even provided a shuttle service.

ต้องการขึ้น Mt.Moiea Ropeway ช่วงวันที่ 25-27/11/2018 ได้หรือไม่ครับ

Hi BrimeSon. How much is the streetcar from Susukino to Mt. Moiwa Ropeway?
Written 10 March 2018
We'll be in Hokkaido towards the latter part of December (2016). I'd like to know if the ropeway is operational during that time? Can we go there using Hokkaido's train/subway transportation? What is the operating hours of Mr Moiwa Ropeway?
Thank you.
Written 12 August 2016
As answered by someone, it should be open by that time. Just try to bring extra insulation as Sapporo is really cold especially at the top of the ropeway. We got there through their tram/streetcar. You can go clockwise or counterclockwise to ropeway iriguchi station and wait for the free shuttle that will take you to moiwa. I advise you to take the shuttle since walking would be an uphill battle. Shuttle arrives every 30 minutes
