A good retreat from the hustle and bustle of big city. Informative but not as good as I imagined. In my view it was ok.

These gardens covered a huge area, of which we only covered about a third of! They were very pretty, with a lake area and pavilion cafe area.

Some of the plants were a thousand years old (according t my calculation). It was a truly amazing experience to even try to imagine the age of the trees. It definitely was worth seeing

Large garden area and if you walked some relatives;y few people! Many local birds in foliage including Red Billed Blue Magpies. Himalayan Black Bulbul. Hill Blue Flycatcher. Most quiet area in all of Hangzhou.

We haven't visited in winter, but our daughter-in-law says it could be quite cold, with possible snow. The botanical garden will not be crowded, and it might be quite beautiful in winter, but the best time would be Spring... More

We used a taxi. Taxis are really cheap in Hangzhou. Geographically, it is on the west side of the West lake (Hangzhou) .
